Gentle tooth extractions are sometimes necessary
There are times when a tooth extraction is the only option. A few examples of when an extraction may be needed:
- If wisdom teeth need to be removed. These are the four molars in the far back of the mouth.
- A dental abcess, which is a pocket of infection near a tooth. An extraction may be needed if a root canal or another treatment method isn’t an option.
- Getting dentures or dental implants. These procedures may require one or more teeth to be extracted.
- A severely decayed tooth. If a crown or a filling will not be sufficient to restore the tooth, an extraction may be the only option.
Patients may need a tooth extracted in order to have a healthy mouth.
Don’t worry, though, because we offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation
You don’t have to feel nervous or anxious about getting an extraction. We offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation so that patients can feel relaxed and at ease for their appointment.
If you would like to learn more about sedation, or to find out if it’s right for you, call our office to schedule an appointment.
